HEY EVERYONE!! I'm officially 16 weeks! (as of 1/25). I'm feeling a million times better! It's interesting all the changes that you go through so early on in pregnancy! I've noticed that I've become more sluggish. Things that were so seemingly easy to me before are now tasks that leave my heart pounding in my head and gasping for breath. Stairs being the number one culprit…followed by cleaning toilets (ok, so that one’s more because I’d rather not do them, am utterly terrified of them, and not even going to argue that Steven cleans them 100x better than I ever could or even wanted to).

Getting out of bed is no longer a flex-your-stomach-to-sit-up-then-slide-off-the-bed-all-limber-like kind of maneuver. It’s more of a roll-on-your-side-then-push-with-all-your-might-and- try-not-to-pass-some-morning-gas-as-the-little-wee-one-inside-you-pushes-all-your- insides-out-of-the-way-as-it-stakes-claim-of-the-places-your-stomach-and-intestines-once-called-home.

I had my second doctor’s appointment last week and I absolutely love my doc! She’s so spunky and fun…she makes you feel like a winner each time you visit her….could be because she says, “you WIN!” whenever she shows me the ultrasound :0) I can’t believe how much our little bean has grown! It’s totally loungin’ in my womb…lol. The doc kept poking at my tummy and shaking her head. She couldn’t believe that this little wee one just likes to keep it’s hands behind it’s head…like it’s in on vacation takin’ in some rays! Well, for now anyways….it’s going to get way more cramped in there in no time! I totally broke down once I heard the heart beat. GOSH! I’m just SO excited!

So apparently, my mom has accurately predicted each and every single one of her grandchildren. She is 100% certain, no doubt about it, that it’s a GIRL. We don’t officially find out until February 16th…which seems so far away! Steve and I have high hopes that it’s a boy…but, I can’t wait to find out if my moms perfect record will continue!

My adorable little sis sent a link to a website that she frequented while she was preggers. (www.babycenter.com/pregnancy) So I was reading up on week 14 (which is where I was at, at the time), and it said:
"Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another...By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body."
Then, it shows you a 3D image of what a 14 week old fetus looks like:

OK, I'll admit...the first thing that came to mind was a clip from 'Meet the Robinson's' where the villain demands that the Dino seize the boy and...well....just click here to watch the clip :)

HAHAHAHA!! That's right....my little munchkin has a "big head and little arms". Thank goodness they are going to become proportionate soon!

If this doesn't just make you go AWE...I don't know what will! Ashley sent me this pic of lil Brooke after her shots...hey, at least she's not cryin' right?? She is just SO adorable!

I’ve developed the nose of a blood hound….seriously! I swear I can smell everything. Things that I never smelt before…and things I really wish I couldn’t smell.

When we bought our house, I hated the smell of it. I bought a bunch of wallflowers from Bath & Body and put them throughout the house. And frankly, I really liked the smell of them….until NOW. I came home from work last night and was so overcome by the smell of eucalyptus that I wanted to barf! I went around the house and gathered them all up and threw them out. BUT, then I couldn’t get the SMELL off of my hands! I washed them literally 10 times and still could smell the eucalyptus scent on them….so I pulled out an onion and rubbed it on my hands….nadda….pulled out some lemons and rubbed them on my hands…NADDA!! So, while cooking dinner, I burnt some cheese in my oven, and you’d think I was smellin’ the greatest thing on earth!! I actually preferred the smell of burnt cheese over my scenty stuff!

Sadly, once the smoke cleared and I was getting ready this morning….the smell was back! Seriously thinking about sporting a clothes line clip on my nose…fashionable…no??

Dear Fetus,

I want you to know how ecstatic we are for your existence….even though you living in my womb is making me feel a wee bit crazy from all the changes. I really wouldn’t trade it for anything in this world and it makes me tear up when I think of how blessed we are. You should know that your dad still calls you spike…which isn’t all that far off considerin’ you probably still have a tail at this point.

Love momma
